Just what side of the road do you drive on?!?!
No wonder car insurance is so dang expensive. It is clear that American’s all over are confused about simple etiquette. I live in the Midwest, home to some of the worst drivers on the planet. What really got me going here is that I find if you use a little common sense and possibly a few “road tips”, even things like walking get easier.
My main beef here is in the grocery store. In the United States we all know (mostly) to drive on the right hand side of the road. I would like to point out that this also works well in places that you are not required to buckle up. While strolling down the aisle pushing your four wheeled (see? you are kinda driving) cart it would be nice if you would remember some road rules. First, we would not have this awkward “uh, where do I go?” moment if you would stay to the right of the aisle. If you should need something on the left please pull over, look both ways and cross. Second, parking in the middle of a thoroughfare is never acceptable. If I had a horn, I would be laying on it. Get out of the way! If you are lost just ask for some direction. Finally, it is not okay to go charging into cross traffic without first looking both ways to make sure the coast is clear. The same goes for your children. Would you let them play in the street like that? I think not. Hold hands, look both ways, and proceed to where you need to be going.
I will be looking forward to sharing the “road” with you if you could just remember these simple things.
